Express your love for nature by growing a tree

some trees growing in my backyard
Nature provides all our essential needs. While we live, we usually end up causing some damage to nature. This is especially true of modern life that is heavily dependant on the use of energy. Large amounts of carbondioxide are released into the atmosphere from the burning of fossil fuels. However we can compensate for some of this damage by growing some trees. As they grow, trees absorb carbon dioxide and produces oxygen. Growing a tree expresses our love for Nature. The district of Nainital is a very green district full of handsome trees. Many residents of this district love trees and protect them while planting new ones whenever they can. I presently live in a dry province called Rajasthan. Here most residents do not care much for trees. They rarely plant any but are quick to cut down a tree that has come up on its own. Perhaps this is their nature and that is why they have been born in a dry district so that they learn to appreciate the value of trees.

Perhaps there is some space in or near your home to plant some trees. A fruit tree is an excellent addition to a home garden whereas flowering trees are great for a street. One can even plant trees in the countryside on a weekend trip. Right now it is winter in the northern hemisphere. This is not a time to palnt a tree outdoors if you live in the Northern Hemisphere. However, tree saplings can be developed at this time in an indoor flower pot. It might be just ready for planting outside in spring.

Hi , I planted two trees this year and have planted three last year. How many trees should one plant to compensate for the carbondioxide i produce through breathing?

Sounds good shyamu. Its Ok even if you can plant one tree a year and make sure it survives. That way during a lifetime you can end up with fifty full grown trees to your credit

Er, sorry, I meant atleast fifty full grown trees not just fifty full grown trees.

With further study I find that the global warming in the world may not be a result of increase of carbon dioxide. Its percentage is still very small on our planet. However global warming is probabaly due to a reduction of trees and forests because trees help in other ways to reduce global warming as well aside from absorbing carbondioxide. Therefore as far as the result goes you are on trak. Keep planting and encourage others to do the same.

Hi, I planted three more trees today morning. These are more than six feet tall cuttings of the drumstick tree. They may take more than a month to green.

You are doing well shyamu. Does not matter if it takes a month or more. Mother Earth is very patient and she sure will appreciate your gift to her. A month is nothing to her in her life time of billions of year.

Drumstick cuttings green very easily. It has a pretty foliage and all of the food, leaves, flowers and fruit are edible and good for health.

Dont forget to water atleast once a weak for several months until the tree is well established

The Goddesses Nanda and Sunanda of Kumaon

S ome of the earliest mentions of divine Nanda and Sunanda are found in ancient Sanskrit texts. It cannot be confirmed if these references have any connection with more recent worship of these goddesses in Kumaon region but they deserve mention for the probable origin of these glorious goddesses. The Bhāgavata Purāna also known as Śrīmad Bhāgavatam, is one of the Puranic texts of Sanskrit literature. It includes  many stories well known in Vedic tradition. The text credits Veda Vyasa, the revered ancient sage, with its authorship. Here is a verse from this text,  “ Also, Srutadeva, Uddhava and others, Nanda, Sunanda and other leaders of liberated souls who are constant companions of the Lord ” Canto 1 Chapter 14 According to this verse, Nanda and Sunanda are close to the eternal lord with the same position as the highest of Angels of the Lord and amongst the leaders of liberated souls that are constantly engaged in serving God. A story in chapter 12 of the same text

Who was Babaji or Baba Haidakhan?

Article Updated May 6 , 2019 If one were to select a likely abode of Gods on our planet, it would likely be highest mountains on the planet, Himalayas- including its greener hills, valleys and caves in lower ranges fed by pristine waters of melting snows of the highest peaks and lakes. Here the air is fresh, cool and crisp and because it is relatively close to equatorial regions, not so cold as to be inhospitable even in the depths of winter. Indeed, fresh air, pure water to drink, green fields, wild flowers and groves of Oak or Pine have created areas within these vast ranges that might be most akin to what one might imagine of heaven. However, over centuries, even the Himalayas have not remained untouched by greed and lust with its associated evils. It is a process that seems to have been set in motion several thousands years ago. Just as it is in the nature of humans to begin forgetting God and goodness with prosperity so it is with civilizations made up of them. As

Sunanda the Goddess - An Embodiment of Divine Love

A Comprehensive view of Mother Goddess as known in South, East and Himalayan Asia Jai Mata Ki (Praise the Mother Goddess) While it is a purpose of every life form to evolve to yet higher states and eventually attain God and become a part of Him, some godly beings, (known as bodhisattvas in Buddhism, and angels in Christianity)  choose to remain as created beings in the universe in service of Universal Consciousness and out of compassion for others, and in order to assist the latter in their evolutionary journeys towards enlightenment. One significant thing that is paradoxical to outsiders is that while Hindu philosophy upholds monotheism and a single Almighty in the Universe, many Hindus (although not all sects) also follow the worship of numerous gods and goddesses. The reality is that since the Almighty is formless and infinite, any finite divine portion of the Almighty may be personified as a facet or personification of the Infinite Lord and that is the reas
