Help arrives from Haidakhan Babaji

Rakesh the Laborer Recently, to friends on face book, I had described how I had suffered much from an illness that was similar to an earlier one suffered in 2007, but just much briefer this time. In 2007 I used to drink much and that had complicated the illness, making it last several months. Moreover, this time, having gone through the same illness before, I knew what had to be done for treatment. When illness had struck in 2007, I had ascribed it to excessive drinking that began soon after death of mother Nando in 1999, to drown my sorrow then. However even then, I had suspected an attack by some poisons mixed in but was not sure. When the attack came this time, I knew it was poisons because now I was not drinking. With the grace and help of Babaji, except for an odd social occasion, I stopped drinking in 2007. It has been described in my earlier books and blogs on Babaji. Immediately I secured my kitchen and discarded all existing food rations into the compost pil

Kingdom of Piland Chronicles

https://www.amazon.com/dp/1977643418 T he Kingdom of Piland Chronicles is a record of the doings of a new Kingdom established in a seemingly unclaimed portion of the Antarctica in July 2014. As stated in the chronicles, due to the remoteness and cold nature of the kingdom, no significant activity has taken place  in the kingdom, at least as yet. Nevertheless, some of its stated policies are significant enough for the rest of the world to draw inspiration from. First is the policy of running a democracy by creating the parliament from a random selection of citizens and not permitting the concept of a political party or elections. This idea has been drawn from ancient Athens. In this manner the kingdom completely avoids the role of money in elections and selection of persons who work for money rather than people. The chronicles contain detailed arguments for this policy. The second significant initiative is to tie its currency to gold. The five hundred dollar coin of the ki

Pathway to Hairakhan, Pathways to Paradise

A photo of plains of Nainital District snapped from road to Hairakhan W hile Baba Hairakhan walked amongst us, he guided many through his blessings and words to pathways of bliss. Now that he is no longer among us physically, his blessings and intervention in life is still available to all who love him. Indeed it is available to others too, even those who never met him or any other saint or divinity that walked upon the face of Mother Earth, for when God sent forth souls into life, he inscribed knowledge on their hearts. The only difficulty is that most of us waste no time in smudging that knowledge with things like greed, lust and anger. Things like Love, truth and simplicity restore it. That is how saints help humans who approach them. Those who now wish to discover those paths for themselves with some guidance from saints through the ages can find it in this new book shared with all here: http://www.amazon.in/Mystic-Pathways-Love-Peace-Happiness/dp/1546343792

How Nainital Inspired my New Novel – 2084 Babaji

2084 Babaji by Ashok Malhotra M uch of my spiritually inspired writing has its roots in Nainital. My new short novel 2084 Babaji too was inspired similarly. While many seem to connect it with the famous novel 1984 by George Orwell, the 2084 is the height of Nainital town in Kumaon. Either way, if you get a chance, do read this novel. In it is a story of our world, a little village in India and a mystic from the Himalayas. While being an engrossing story the book is interspersed with mystic knowledge that shall surely help to make the life of reader more meaningful and joyous. The book is available at Amazon at the following link as well as several other places if you google for it, https://www.amazon.com/2084-Babaji-Ashok-Malhotra/dp/1544761104 Note: The cover image shown here is different from the one in commercially available editions. A screenshot of some of  the images connected to this book on goolge images is below. Jai Baba haidakhan

Babaji Haidkhan was from God

I n an age when false teachers and fraud spiritual gurus may be found a dime a dozen, how can someone be  sure that Baba Haidakhan/ Hairakhan was a true teacher and not just another one of those false gurus. In fact false gurus are as old as human civilization and even ancient prophets have warned about them. It is however not difficult to discover them from their fruit. This post in another blog gives seven signs to discover the false ones and the godly ones. https://ashokbabaji.blogspot.in/2017/03/beware-of-evil-in-spiritual-robes.html Babaji of Haidkhan passes all the simple tests described at this link unlike very many others who claim to be gurus and messengers of God in the modern age.

Babaji or Baba Haidakhan/ Hairakhan and Religion

Image: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homa_(ritual)#/media/File:(A)_Hindu_puja,_yajna,_yagna,_Havanam_in_progress.jpg B abaji was a mystic who appeared in the Nainital Himalayas between 1970 and 1984. Many believe that he was a divine being that appears repeatedly in human body since times immemorial in the Himalayas with his appearance at Haidakhan being the most recent one. While his origins must remain a mystery, there is no doubt that he added much peace, happiness and beauty in the lives of all he touched and that his life and works were magical. Haidakhan is also spelt Hairakhan because the actual consonant sound used in the word in local language does not exist in English. It is actually something that is a bit like a mix of an R and a D sound. Like many other modern Gurus, Babaji did not accumulate any wealth or luxuries, did not ask anyone to change his religion or become his exclusive follower and devotee but rather encouraged all to remain free in hear

Guardians of the Forest and Babaji

Morning in a Pine Forest (1899) by Ivan Shishkin and Konstantin Savitsky . F or thousands of years now a belief has prevailed in South Asian society that one cannot escape all difficulties of life as long as one remains embedded in family, society, worldly ambitions and possessions, that to escape such difficulties and to find understanding and spiritual enlightenment one must escape into the wilderness leaving all behind, that peace, happiness, enlightenment and bliss may then be found through communion with nature, the stars, reflection and meditation. It was as a part of such traditions that Prince Gautama left behind his family along with kingdom and left for the forests. After several years of meditation he received enlightenment and became the Buddha. Many persons who leave for the wilderness have led successful, highly educated and wealthy lives prior to their departure. Not all become a Buddha but many do become renowned saints. The educated and highly lear

For lovers of Babaji, Baba Haidakhan

Om Namah Shivay  http://hdwallpapers.org.in/wallpapers-download.php?ide=611 Some feel the fire of truth, some taste its nectar I n recent times many refer to Baba Haidakhan of Nainital District as just Babaji which in fact is a generic term for an evolved spiritual mystic. Although much about Babaji remains a divine mystery with him revealing only parts to different loving followers, his interest in the Middle East   is revealed by Alx Uttermann I am thankful to Alx for drawing my attention to the matter earlier today.: http://alxindia.blogspot.in/2006/08/mahavatar-babaji-and-middle-east_06.html While the people of both Israel and Palestine suffer, it is a small narrow group of vested interests that profit from keeping up the conflict and not reaching a peaceful resolution. This conflict is at root of much terror in world. It seems prior to Israel-Palestine conflict that began after WWII, Muslim nations were just as if not more peaceful than Christian ones. Po

Babaji and Trees

Babaji Baba Hairdakhan, Babaji loved to care for and plant trees. He encouraged others to do the same. Himalayan mystics explain that human birth is precious. It is attained after millions of years of evolution when a soul evolves slowly from bacteria, animal and eventually to human form and beyond. As a human, the capabilities are far more than that of any other animal on planet earth. With this form, the human soul also had certain responsibilities that come with any advantages. It is the duty of humans to help the less evolved that include plants, animals and even other humans. It is an expression of  love for mother earth. Of the three virtues required for evolution – love, truth and simplicity, love is the foremost. If a human does not continue to evolve to still higher life forms, godly by our reckoning, there is danger of it slipping back into lower ones. At the present time, when human population has increased to an extent that plant life is suffering an

The Deathless Babaji

There are some who believe that there is a mystic Babaji who is deathless and roams about in the Kumaon Himalayas hopping from hill to hill. Some even thought that Baba Haidakhan about whom there are several posts in this blog (see links to the left) is that deathless Baba. As regards that it is only the soul that is deathless, all physical bodies are transient, they are born and they die. Even the planets and the universe are transient. May I quote from another blogpost on this, "It is really very surprising how humans in this age of science and logic can believe, without the slightest shred of evidence, that there is a young Babaji who roams and hops about in the Kumaon hills and never dies! or for that matter a Lochness Monster or a Himalayan Yeti" http://ashokmalhotra.wordpress.com/2013/09/09/truth-about-yoga/

Babaji or Baba Haidakhan - The Nainital Mystic who restored truths about Yoga

What Babaji of Nainital said. T he Himalayas have been a source of spiritual knowledge since ancient times. It has been the abode and/or origin of numerous saints, mystics, including the Great Buddha; and according to Hindu and Buddhist Mythology also of gods, goddesses and Bodhisattvas. Certainly if a location has to be chosen for that in the world it has to be The Himalayas as the Highest mountain chain of the world and also the most conducive to life and beauty. In 1970, a youthful saint of around twenty, called Baba Haidakhan or Babaji lovingly by his disciples appeared in the Nainital District of Himalayas. He died in 1984, even as he had said while he lived that the body is meaningless and transient but the soul lives on. While he lived, he lovingly and joyously demolished certain fallacies and myths about yoga that were spreading in the world. It was a time when there was a great interest in yoga in the west. Certain popular sects were propagating myths about yog

A Novel with Nainital as the Backdrop

Just this morning I found a nice review of my novel ‘Nude besides the Lake’ at amazon .com. I would like to share it with visitors to this blog. Me (in Jacket) and others beside a lake of Nainital District - Sattal A Satisfying Read July 22, 2012 Nude besides the Lake is a delightful tale of discovery (and rediscovery), friendship, and cooperation and the great things that can be achieved by acts of generosity and respect. There are no bad guys here. It is not a world of conflict and despair. The world that author Ashok Malhotra paints of life in the beautiful mountains & lakes country in northern India is both mesmerizing and alluring. His story introduces details of Indian life, philosophy, spirituality, and culture from the homespun perspective of those who call Nainital home. There is even sensitive tribute to Indian history and British influences. And through it all one can almost smell the dust kicked up by the monsoons and the fragrant roses, magnolias,

About Mantras and their Nainital origin

Photo shows roof of Naini Mata temple in Nainital A face book friend and cousin - Pardeep - posted something this morning about a Mantra on his wall: Mantra Dhaarnaa Yon Kar, Vidhi Se Le Kar Naam Japiye Nishchaya Achal Se, Shakti-Dhaam Sri Ram These verses in Hindi may be translated as: From right Teacher learn right technique of repetition of right name Then mediate with greatest faith, Upon the Lord’s most vital name I fully agree with my dear cousin that the chanting of Mantras done correctly is a powerful technique, even magical. That is the reason one has magicians chanting spells in fairy tales to perform magic. Recently a college classmate and dear friend got into serious legal difficulties. His name is Rajat Gupta. Until recently he was one of the most senior corporate executives on our planet well known to Prime Ministers and Presidents including Obama and Clinton. He can be found in Wikepedia. However, amongst some of his friends were also some

Are all Babas and Mystics Fraud?

On Babas and Mystics This Blog and a recent book ( The Babaji Affair ) has a lot of matter on Babas and Mystics especially of the Nainital region. The following FAQs about it are therefore in order. Recently while on the topic of Mystics a very dear friend of mine commented, “Since childhood I have had no use for Babas, swamis or of any kind of mystic. I saw them as parasites taking advantages of well meaning but duped followers. I have always put them in one of two categories - they are either charlatans or they are self-delusional. Nothing in between. In other words, they either knowingly deceive people, or they believe in the bunk they spread. (Sorry, couldn't control this diatribe - Tourette syndrome)” My response at the time was a brief one that I agreed with him partly. The response was brief at the time because we were really engaged in a conversation on some other matter. But, the comment does need a more detailed response and I am attempting that now in a
